Quilted Pocket Bag

Image
Quilted Pocket Bag Dear Stitch Diaries,        I love bags. I must... I have about 50. Small ones, Big ones, Giant ones, and yet I make more. Then I think to myself what a cute gift this would be and make even more! Such is the life of a crafter. I have made about 12 of these for my friends and family. Many of them use the bags as their scripture bags. I use mine as a small craft bag. It is perfect for both because it has 8 pockets. When I have a bunch of super cute fabric in a fat quarter bundle, this is one of the many different things I make with it. I usually have enough to make a bunch of cute fabric flowers and pillows with some of my hand embroidery patterns as well. I have the Quilted pocket bag pattern for sale on my store at indebquiltshop.com I will do a post on how to make these flowers soon. Keep a look out! Happy Crafting!

Easter Church Handout

Image
Easter Church Handout Dear Stitch Diaries,        I have taught young children in my church for years and years. It has always been a fun hobby of mine to come up with fun handouts and cute sayings for all kinds of occasions. These days so many kids have allergies so sugar candy is usually a safe bet. In this hand out I used Smarties. Adding just a couple google eyes and fun colored foam. I will post a free cut out pattern on my store at indebquiltshop.com I traced my original cut outs onto the white foam for the head and the snout. I then traced the nose and inner ears on all kinds of colors. On the back I wrote " Hoppy Easter! Remember the reason for the season!" and then added a sticker of Jesus. With a bunch of hot glue I then created these cute rabbits. I hope these cute handouts bring the kids in your class some joy this year.  Happy Crafting!

Bless the Birds

Image
Bless the Birds Dear Stitch Diaries,         I have to be honest, I love Summer more than I love Spring. Spring is so wet and muddy. Grass is still yellow and as the snow melts, garbage and the mess we all left in the yard starts to become visible. I created this little project to remind me of summer days! Every time I look at it, I smile.        I put this in a frame that I display in my entry the moment Valentine's Day is over, willing summer to come faster! I used bright vibrant colors! Life is better the brighter it can be! You can find this fun pattern at indebquiltshop.com     Happy Crafting!

A Pioneer Legacy

A Pioneer Legacy Dear Stitch Diaries,          What makes us who we are? Hopefully you are blessed with a close family where you can see everyone you are so much like. I have my Aunt Linda's sense of humor, her sense of style, and I sing to myself all day long. I have my mother's looks, her sense of worry, and a touch of her class. I have my Aunt Clarice's ability to love anyone and everyone, her fierce sense to protect the ones she loves, and the ability to make you feel better than when I found you. I have so many more things about me that I see in other family members.... too long to list. It is a legacy. It comes with good traits and bad ones. I have spent my life working on making the good ones my main qualities and overcoming the bad ones. My life is a work in progress, and at the age of 48, I still feel like an infant in this endeavor.          In the year of 2012, we had the opportunity to go on a pioneer trek with our church. At first I was so excited about it. I h

Pin Cushions

Dear Stitch Diaries,      I have been crafting for 42 years and only recording them for about the last 20. I will be loading as many as I possibly can. I have so many from years past and of course I keep creating. So needless to say I will not be posting things in chronological order, but rather when ever I feel like loading what ever I want. Oh yes, the freedom of that sentence. I have not always been able to accept such freedom! Some would say uptight, I would just say picky. My life has always seemed to crave an exact order. As a small child with my room always clean. Everything had a place. Even my books were in alphabetical order, or numerical order, or order by color according to the rainbow. Which ever I preferred at the time. I believe that having 4 children helped cure me of such things. You can drive yourself crazy if you cant learn to let some things go.     Today I am going to share my adventure with making Pin Cushions. Who would have thought it would have been like eatin
